This Stokke Stroller Just Got Better!

Out of Norway comes the new Stokke stroller. The revamped Xplory X stroller is innovative, sexy, and practical- style without compromising safety and comfort.

Stokke strongly believes in the importance of the bond and connection between parent and child. The Xplory X is the definition of their philosophy.

Handlebar

Talk about a contemporary and luxurious handlebar! Shaped like an oval and wrapped in leatherette, it oozes luxury.

Furthermore, the adjustable handlebar is quite inventive. You can adjust it by sliding it up and down, and the oval-shaped handlebar moves at multiple angles to further add height adjustability. Moreover, I can’t imagine many parents will find it problematic to find the most comfortable and ergonomic position for their arms.

Seating

Safety and comfort are paramount to Stokke. The Xplory X’s hardshell seat with lavish padding produces a safety cocoon for your baby. And, the easily adjustable padded five-point safety harness ensures your child is snug and secure.

The new adjustable footrest with additional leg support will add comfort as your child grows. Plus, the leatherette swing-away bumper bar makes the process of getting your child in and out effortless.

With the child seat being height adjustable, you can have your child closer to you than any other stroller. Having your child so close to you enables you to bond with your child during those early precious years. That’s not all; you can turn the seat forward so your child can view their new world. Finally, with the child seat at table height, the seat can be used as a portable high chair when you’re at a restaurant.

Storage

First, the storage on the Stokke Xplory X stroller is somewhat comical. It might be challenging to pack everything you need for a day out with your child. Second, good luck fitting many of today’s larger diaper bags into the storage compartment. Then again, since the shopping bag is detachable, some parents use the shopping bag as a diaper bag. Third, you could drape items like your diaper bag on the handle, but it takes away from the uncluttered, sleek design of the stroller.

Stokke does not have a parent organizer- it’s not available as an accessory either. There isn’t any place to store your smartphone, wallet, or keys. As parent-friendly as the Xplory X is, this is one area Stokke has missed the mark. However, in light of this, there are pockets on the carrycot for parents’ essentials. We’ll go further in-depth later on.

Canopy

Protect your little munchkin from the sun with the redesigned extendable canopy and visor. Also, the fabric is UPF 50+ and PFC Free water repellant. Of course, the peek-a-boo window allows you to keep tabs on your child and provides added ventilation.

Folding

Turn the Xplory from a four-wheeler to a two-wheeler with the user-friendly folding feature. Done in seconds- press the release mechanism, pull up on the pull ring on the handlebar stem, and use your foot to collapse the stroller. Just like that, the stroller is now a two-wheeler. We like to call this the “stairs, escalator, and rough terrain mode.” Navigating down and through steps and thick grass has never been easier!

To completely fold the stroller; only requires one additional step. From the two-wheel mode, all you would need to do is push the handlebar down. Presto! Your stroller is now ready to be loaded into your vehicle. Whereas most strollers fold in one piece, the Xplory is two pieces- the child seat and the chassis. For the most part, parents seem to have mixed feelings about the two-piece fold.

Brakes

The one-push braking system is uncomplicated. As such, there’s one red foot pedal on the right rear wheel. Push it down to park the stroller and push it again to get going. Equally important, when the stroller is parked, it’s not going anywhere.

Xplory X Bundles

Stokke offers three different bundles for the Xplory X. They are the stroller, a stroller with a carrycot, and a stroller with an infant car seat and base. Likewise, the carrycot and car seat are available as accessories. Lastly, bravo to Stokke for their bundles. We love how you have the option of getting what you want. Other brands on the market make it such- that you must purchase component(s) that you don’t necessarily want.

Below is the breakdown of the three Xplory X bundles:

Travel System

Even without an infant car seat installed, the Xplory X screams travel system. The Stokke PIPA™ by Nuna® is simply amazing. If you aren’t familiar with the PIPA, it is an ultra-safe and ridiculously lightweight car seat. And since Nuna designed this car seat for Stokke, there isn’t a need for adapters. It’s just a matter of click and go!

At the same time, if the Stokke PIPA by Nuna isn’t your cup of tea, Stokke has an adapter that is compatible with the following car seats:

Clek®
Cybex®
Maxi-Cosi®
Nuna®

Carrycot

The carrycot gives your child a place to lie flat and sleep while also being protected from the elements. Its soft interior, ventilated base, breathable mattress, and wind cover provide a first-rate environment for your child to nestle down. The quick-release is a breeze to place and remove the carrycot- making mom and dad’s life just a little more effortless. Finally, the carrycot has two easy-access pockets for must-haves within arms reach. Unfortunately, the pockets are the closest thing to a parent organizer.
